* Week 1-2: Tear-out, prep, and
rough-in. Removal of your existing
kitchen cabinets, flooring and open
walls as required. The electrician
and plumber will be in to rough-in all
mechanicals like sinks, appliances,
lighting and outlets.
* Week 2-3: Patching, wall prep,
painting and flooring. Once all electrical
and plumbing is completed, we
patch up and prepare walls for painting
and cabinetry. Tile and glue down
flooring is done after painting. Floating
floors like the popular Luxury Vinyl
Tile (LVT) or planking are done after
cabinetry.
* Week 3-4: Cabinetry and countertops.
This is the step of the process
that you will be able to see your vision
coming to life! These two weeks will
include the installation of the new
cabinetry, moldings and the countertop.

Week 4-6: Tile backsplash and final
hook ups. Depending on the type of
flooring, this may be installed after the
cabinetry. To complete the project in
these final weeks, we will install the
tile backsplash, have the appliances
and all final electrical and plumbing
hookups completed.
Some projects that do not require any
appliances being relocated, or walls
changing, can certainly be completed
on a tighter schedule.
Bathroom renovations also follow a
similar process and timeline. While
less time is required for cabinetry in a
typical bathroom, in many cases that
time is spent on the shower renovation.
Tile or wall surrounds take about
a week for that portion of a bath
project.
Your designer or contractor should
supply you with a schedule of how the
project is planned to unfold. While
unforeseen issues may arise, most
kitchen and bath projects are able to
run on a tight and planned schedule
with a logical process. Ask for a daily
schedule of what is planned for each
day. Be flexible and understand that
the schedule is subject to change,
but it should be a blueprint of the
timeline expected.
