such as lighting, kitchen, and landscape designers.
Some designers work for specific stores such as flooring, kitchen or furniture stores and, thus, only work
with their store's products. An independent designer,
on the other hand, has no such limitations and is
open to working with any supplier including local flooring, cabinetry, lighting and furniture stores of YOUR
choice along with local builders and remodelers.
While magazines like R&A or online sources such as
HOUZZ and Pinterest are a great way to figure out
what you like and don't like, keep in mind that your
home is different than what you see in the pictures.
An interior designer can help you make such distinctions and coordinate a look that you have envisioned.
Getting decorating advice from family & friends is
an option but ...While friends and family may mean
well, their taste and lifestyle are theirs-not yours.
Consider the awkwardness of not taking their advice
or going with their suggestions. Depending on the
relationship, it may work-but why risk it?
Remember, decorating should be fun! Some people
enjoy making their own selections and have the time
to do so. Others, especially on the larger-scoped

projects, are quickly overwhelmed with it all and don't
care for the stress. Still others have the desire and
decorating skills to tackle the job but lack the necessary time to resource and coordinate all of the details.
If you fall into one of the latter two groups, I suggest
you give us a call.
