Luckily the existing ceiling was dropped and could be raised up so the higher seats would not feel cramped. A perimeter soffit was added for uplighting to enhance the ambiance. The entrance doors were moved closer to the screen to give more room for the seating area and provide symmetry for the new pilasters. The pilasters serve multiple functions including providing a traditional element to the space, showcasing the wall sconces, hiding the subwoofer speakers, and disguising the media cabinet. Acoustic wall panels were also added to create a pleasant listening experience and hide the multiple in-wall speakers. The projector was also located in the adjacent room. With all of the audio and visual equipment concealed, it created a polished space for the ultimate movie watching experience. Project Designer, Stephen P. Diller, RA 32 - R&A MAGAZINE - WINTER 2022
