Millennial Work Preferences
New research on Millennials from recruitment solutions
provider Futurestep, a Korn Ferry company, shows that
this younger generation is looking to make an impact
on the business (23 percent). They also look for a clear
path for advancement (20 percent) and development and
ongoing feedback (16 percent). Surprisingly, income and
compensation came in at fourth place at 13 percent.
The survey also revealed that once employees are hired,
there are key benefits to in-depth onboarding practices.
While 81 percent of respondents said they currently
develop millennial employees differently than other
employees, more than half of respondents (54 percent)
said onboarding programs help improve performance and
accelerate time to full productivity. Nearly one quarter (23
percent) claimed it provided company leaders with more
insight into future stars within the organization.

Vodafone: Global Maternity Policy
By the end of 2015, women working at all levels across
Vodafone's 30 operating companies in Africa, the Middle
East, the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, Latin America, and the
United States will be offered at least 16 weeks fully paid
maternity leave, as well as full pay for a 30-hour week for
the first six months after their return to work.
Other than the United Nations, very few global
organizations have adopted minimum maternity policies of
this kind. While a number of Vodafone subsidiaries already
offer substantial maternity care terms, the new mandatory
minimum global maternity policy will make a significant
difference to Vodafone women employees in countries
where there is little or no legislative requirement to provide
maternity support.
An analysis from KPMG indicates that global businesses
could save up to an estimated $19 billion annually
through this maternity leave provision. KPMG estimated
that recruiting and training new employees to replace
women who do not stay in the workforce after having a
baby costs global businesses $47 billion every year, and
if businesses were able to retain more women in the
workforce after their maternity leave, they could save up
to $19 billion a year.
Contract: NGA Human Resources and AkzoNobel
Payroll and HR services provider NGA Human Resources
will deliver managed payroll to AkzoNobel's employees in
the Netherlands, U.S., and France under a new five-year
contract. Based in Amsterdam and producer of specialty
chemicals, the global paints and coatings company will
leverage NGA global payroll, an end-to-end payroll
outsourcing solution for multi-country workforces that
combines in-country payroll expertise with HR technology
and consolidated reporting. AkzoNobel's solution will
be powered by NGA's euHReka family of solutions and
delivered from its employee service centers in Hyderabad,
Manila, and Granada.
