AI and the
High-Value Recruiter

the talent
acquisition
industry just a few
short years ago,
recruiters across
the globe are now
seeing how Artificial
Intelligence (AI) and
big data can not only
make their jobs easier,
but make them more
strategic.
A recent Korn Ferry
Futurestep survey
of talent acquisition
professionals found that 60 percent
of respondents believe big data and
AI have forever changed the way
recruiting is done, and 44 percent
say it has made their jobs easier.
When asked why data and AI make
talent acquisition professionals jobs
easier, the top reason was because it
provides them with valuable insights,
followed by allowing them to focus
on enhancing the cultural aspect of
the organization and finding new
ways to innovate and add value.
Big data and AI take on the more
routine tasks of our business and
allow us to spend more time in
critical areas such as providing an
outstanding candidate experience
their next step on their
career journey.
When asked how they
use AI in recruiting,
the largest percentage
of respondents said
sourcing, followed by
tracking the hiring
process and following up
with candidates.
And it's working.
and offering strategic advice
to hiring managers. And at

Two-thirds of
respondents said when
they use big data and
AI as a sourcing tool,
they get more qualified candidates.
This no doubt makes them more
successful, as 53 percent say they are
filling more roles than they were just
5 years ago.
So in this brave new world of
machine learning and humans
working hand in glove, do talent
acquisition professionals worry that
their jobs will one day be obsolete?
Not a chance!
Only 10 percent believe AI will have
a negative impact on their job, and
90 percent don't believe AI will
ever replace them. Big data and the
human recruiter will no doubt have a
long-term relationship.
