In a survey of 14,000 individuals across 19 countries, the
research found that:
* More than twice as many candidates in China, the U.K,
the U.S., Australia, and Mexico use apps to apply to jobs
today than in 2015.
* More than half of all candidates and 64 percent of
millennials would like to apply to jobs using their
smartphones.
* One in three candidates believe that automated,
unpersonalized messages undermine an employer's
credibility.
* Two in three women globally are uncomfortable with
video interviews.
Technology combined with a personalized approach is a
top priority for today's job seekers, and employers that
wish to attract these candidates need to learn how to
use technology to compliment, and not replace, human
interaction.
AI's Power to Transform Business
In today's ever-changing markets, companies are being
forced to adopt more agile business practices. Many have
begun to embrace artificial intelligence as a way to shed
their old rules-based ways and become more flexible and
quick to respond to dynamic business conditions.
According to the new Technology Vision report by
Accenture, 85 percent of business executives plan to
invest in AI-related technology in the next three years,
particularly for tasks related to business processes such
as accounting, marketing, procurement, and customer
relations.
By allowing businesses to automate certain processes,
effectively collect and analyze data, and use that
information to augment the skills of its employees, AI can
boost productivity by as much as 40 percent. Companies
that are able to embrace AI and its new, outcome-driven
systems will experience a total transformation.
* Employees that work in offices with open floor plans
spend 11 percent less time in the office than those that
work in a private environment.
* Twenty one percent of employees would take a pay cut to
work in a nicer workspace.

A New Norm in the Workplace
Working from home has become the new norm, says
Staples' Annual Workplace Survey. The survey of 1,004
full-time employees and 200 managers reveals that 43
percent of employees feel working remotely is a musthave,
and only 32 percent work in an office full-time.
While working remotely was once considered a niceto-have
benefit, the popularity of open floor plans has
made offices more distracting, encouraging employees to
seek out quieter workspaces. In fact, 57 percent of survey
respondents reported that working remotely removed
distractions, allowing employees to be more productive
and motivated.
For employers with open offices, flexible seating can be
a way to make employees feel more engaged. According
to the survey results, 71 percent of workers say that agile
seating, or hotdesking, deepens their connection with their
employer.
Additional survey findings include:
* Only 27 percent of millennials spend all their time in a
traditional office.
* Thirty seven percent of employees that work in an open
office say that the layout causes distractions.
