The Talent Cloud: The Convergence of HR and Technology

The HRO Today Forum-an annual highlight for HR
leaders and professionals all over the country-is moving
to the Midwest! HRO Today magazine will host the 14th
annual HRO Today Forum on May 2-4 at the Drake Hotel
in Chicago. The forum will present the latest trends in
HR services, technology and analytics, offer networking
opportunities with the leading minds in HR, and allow
attendees to discuss their own experiences.
The theme for 2016's forums is " The Talent Cloud: The
Convergence of HR and Technology. " This theme will help
reveal the ways that HR executives can leverage cloud,
mobile, and social technologies to attract, engage, and
retain top performers and ensure they align with all HR
strategies and goals. In today's HR environment, the
talent cloud and the ability to use ever-changing cloud
technologies are more crucial than ever.
In his recent CEO's Letter, SharedXpertise and HRO
Today CEO Elliot Clark discusses the meaning behind
the theme: " We are using that phrase to symbolize the
fact that technology is now integral to HR and to the
relationship between employee and employer. The world
is not 'changing.' It's just a changed world, " he says. " And
while we still sometimes think of HR as being all about
the people, the bits and bytes are just as important as
the heart and the brain. However, we all know what we
want to fall out of the talent cloud is the best possible
workforce with the highest possible productivity. "
There will be an all-star lineup of speakers at the event,
including Peter Cappelli, director of the Center for
Human Resources at The Wharton School; Ivor Horn,
medical director at the Center for Diversity and Health
Equity Seattle Children's Hospital; and Peter Vermeulenz,
head of HR Americas at The Linde Group; who will discuss
and share best practices, research, and ideas. The 2016
North America forum will also feature special sessions
with a notable CHRO panel discussion; The Center for
Human Resources at the Wharton School track, a special
Healthcare track that will share proven, successful
