Next door, WhirlyBall captures hearts big and
small. Played in an indoor ring, WhirlyBall can best
be described as a combination of bumper cars and
a ball game reminiscent of lacrosse, Justman says.
It's an ideal spot for team building.
For more rest and relaxation in your postconference
downtime, stop by Float Oasis on the
east side of town. Brookfield has a number of
spas to try, but Float Oasis offers a unique wellness
experience with temperate tubs that glow
soft blues and purples below you as you float on
the surface in a quiet, private room. Plus, firsttime
floats come with discounts.
But one of the most beloved aspects of
Brookfield is its carefully planned and well-kept
Greenway Trail System and the parks and neighborhoods
it connects. Good for biking, hiking or
simply walking between the trees and budding
shrubbery, this trail system creates safe, green,
blooming routes that wind throughout the city,
linking large greenscapes. Yet, even if you're not
near a park, an entrance to the trails is never far,
even from city centers. Mitchell Park and Fox
Brook Park-a 224-acre park with a 22-acre
quarry lake, sandy beach and volleyball area-are
walkable from Brookfield Village.
" We're a suburban city with a nature feel, "
Justman reflects.
PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA
At a population of just over 27,000, Lake Prior is a
suburb of Minnesota's Twin Cities with a smalltown
sense, grand meeting spaces and abundant
options for recreation. Twenty-five minutes from
Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP),
Lake Prior has more than 55 parks that make up
1,000 acres of green space, 100-plus miles of trails
for walking and biking, 14 lakes and one of the
newest convention centers-steps from one of the
newest and largest hotels in the metropolitan area.

the Lakefront Greens
Mystic Lake Center stands between Mystic
Lake itself and The Meadows at Mystic Lake, a
sprawling country club with an award-winning,
18-hole golf course. The convention center offers
100,000 sq. ft. of indoor event space and 16,000
sq. ft. of outdoor event space. The grand building
opened in 2018 and is, in all ways, a " design
that is totally inspired by nature, " divulged Group
Architects and Designers Chief Design Officer
Bryan Hamlin to Minnesota's Southwest News
Media amid its debut. The center boasts 30 flexible
meeting rooms and event spaces, 10 bars and
restaurants and an onsite spa. The largest ballroom
in the property fits up to 2,272 guests.
Steps away, Mystic Lake Casino Hotel is one
of the largest hotels in the region and owned and
operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux
Community (SMSC), a federally recognized and
sovereign Indigenous American tribe native to
Scott County, Minnesota, where many members
and descendants of the tribe live today. The SMSC
are also the owners of The Meadows, having
purchased the property in 2002 before completely
remodeling it to what we know it as today.

The hotel offers 766 newly renovated guest
rooms-each with a view of The Meadows below.
Even the meeting rooms have a broad view of the
green. One of the most striking features of the
venue is its large windows, made from SageGlass,
which prevents both glare and heat. Mystic Casino
Hotel first opened in 1992 and underwent major
renovations during the same period as the center's
construction, between 2016 and 2018. Inside
the center and hotel, soft blues and browns with
allusions to the native wildlife and scenery decorate
the building and its guest rooms and suites. Mystic
Lake Casino Hotel also has one of the largest
gaming floors in the Midwest-open 24/7.
Fresh and Fine Dining
Located inside Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, Mystic
Steakhouse offers farm- and 'sea-to-table' plates
with a close view of The Meadows. Try boutique
wines and flown-in Prime 100% Black Angus
beef, fresh any day of the week. Minnehaha
Cafe, another hotel restaurant, is open late and
serves the American classics and comforts. Open
afternoons and evenings, The Meadows Bar and
Grille is right off the golf course and is known
for its burgers, salads and other new American
dishes. Caribou Cafe at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel
offers unique drinks when you need a coffee
break with breakfast served all day.
On the other side of town (eight minutes by
car from the center and hotel), locally tried-andtrue
eateries decorate the commercial area near
the 160-acre Lakefront Park, where Upper and
Lower Prior Lake converge. A short walk from the
park, Perron's Sul Lago serves Italian classics in
a fine dining-style by the lake. Edelweiss Bakery,
another eatery right by Lakefront Park, offers
sweet and savory, vegetarian-friendly treats and
drinks. Next door, Boathouse Brothers Brewing is
constantly creating new and exceedingly unique
beers-such as their " Vanilla Expresso Porter, "
" Minnesota-Style Amber Eisbock " and " Personal
Flirtation De-Weisse " -all made with locally
sourced grains and other ingredients.
