new solution for
high-voltage accessory
applications
nearly anywhere
within the
vehicle. The connectivity
system
is designed for
use in applications
such as
HVAC, heaters,
hydraulic pumps and electronic power steering. The compact
and adaptable design allows for either two or three
conductors in the same interface, handling 2.5-, 4- and
6-mm2
LV216 conductor cross-sections single-core cabling
(multi-code and ISO cabling are in development). The HVA
HD400 connector can perform reliably in extreme environments
and can handle up to 1000 VDC and 60 A (at
80°C/176°F). Other features include an operating temperature
of -40 to +140°C (-40 to +284°F), dust and water ingress
protection rating of IP68 and IP6K9K, contact position
assurance (CPA) and the ability to withstand transmissionlevel
vibrations.

Electromechanical cylinder
RISE Robotics
(Somerville, Mass.) has
partnered with Anthony
Liftgates (Pontiac, Ill.) to
demonstrate a fluid-free,
electromechanical alternative
to hydraulic cylinders
for heavy equipment
and machinery.
RISE Robotics' first commercial
product, the RISE Cylinder, delivers hydraulic-like
forces at what the company claims is " unprecedented " efficiency,
precision, speed and weight. The cylinder reportedly
uses up to 90% less energy than hydraulic cylinders. This
project has been underway for three years and culminates
with the launch of an exclusive product, Re-Gen Railtrac with
RISE Inside. RISE Robotics' focus has been on heavy-duty
power liftgates, solving dead-battery problems through lower
power usage and regenerative charging.

Feed-through power connectors
Binder USA (Camarillo, Calif.) has introduced control cabinet
feed-throughs for its M12 and M12 Power connectors (Series
713, 813, 814, 823 and 824) that enable the flow of signals,
data and electrical power between modules in the control
cabinet and automation components in the field. The combination
of plug or socket and coding on each connection side
supports a variety of configurations, including the complex
implementations found in Industry 4.0 smart factories.
Binder's M12 and M12 Power connectors allow signal, data
and supply cables to be connected using circular connectors
of the same series. The feed-throughs are equipped with an
M12 locking thread and an M16 mounting thread. Product
highlights include 3 to 8 pins, depending on coding; IP67
protection; and operating temps (except 814 series) of -40
and +85°C (-40 and +185°F).

generation of projected
capacitive
(PCAP) touchscreens
from touch
solutions specialist
AMT (Taiwan), with
a range of standard sizes and aspect ratios available between
3.5- and 23.8-inch. The new PCAP touchscreens are
suitable for use in industrial and commercial sectors where
larger screen sizes can be easily accommodated. AMT has
simplified the process of connecting and interfacing to the
touchscreen by featuring a fully integrated touch controller
on a Chip-on-Flex interconnect cable. The PenMount K1 series
is AMT's proprietary PCAP touch controller featured
through the new product lineup.
