MEMBER NEWS DOSSIER: Corina Sandu, Ph.D., of Virginia Tech Congress (WCX) events. Although our research areas are different, I already knew about her prestigious career and accomplishments. She has always been someone I deeply respected and admired. The fact that we both grew up in Romania and attended the same university in Bucharest made me feel even more connected to her. She has definitely been an inspiration and a role model to me. When I received the Rodica Baranescu Award for Technical and Leadership Excellence in 2013, I felt truly honored.
