SAE's AWIM program judged " cool tool "
SAE STEM@Home was selected as the EdTech Cool
Tool Awards Winner for " Best Parent/Student
Solution, " while SAE's A World In Motion (AWIM)
PreK-8 STEM education program was named a finalist
for " Best Skills (21st Century Skills) Solution. "
Featuring STEM-inspired storybooks and immersive
STEM learning modules and experiments, SAE
STEM@Home gives young learners access to free
STEM resources wherever and
whenever learning happens. To help
bring STEM careers to life, STEM@
Home also includes a " Meet the
Engineer " video series profiling SAE
Members in different STEM roles.
SAE Member Steve Rohde not only
volunteered to be in one of the first
videos, he also actively recruited
other members and provided all of the video edits.
" I've been involved with SAE's AWIM educational
program for about 20 years, " he said. " It's amazing
how the kids enjoy the various hands-on projects that
they create. The SAE STEM@Home program
complements AWIM and I was glad to be able to
contribute to it. "
SAE Member volunteers are an invaluable resource
for SAE's A World In Motion (AWIM) STEM education
program, working directly with teachers to provide
real-world perspectives and mentorship starting with
the youngest learners, from preschool through 8th
grade.
" It is very rewarding to help others with events and
education-especially with AWIM at the elementary
school. The kids love it so much, and I know there are
some whose future has been molded for the better by
that experience " said SAE Member Derek Logan.
