Other than building my first car at the age of five or watching my two children evolve into amazing people (despite teenage years), I would say it was the honor of being nominated and receiving SAE's 2013 J. Cordell Breed Award for Women Leaders. This award is special to me because a group of my colleagues at VTTI secretly nominated me. In what way is SAE helpful to you? Being an SAE member and volunteer has 24 August 2021 allowed me to meet many SAE members across government, industry, and academia, which has enhanced my abilities as a research scientist and leader. It has also allowed me to participate in activities that assist students and future generations of members.
