Microchip Technology Inc.
(Chandler, Arizona) announced
their Switchtec Gen 4 PCIe switches.
The company states that these
switches provide the high-speed
interconnect that supports distributed,
real-time safety-critical data
processing in ADAS architectures.
The company also claims that this
is the industry's first automotive-qualified Gen 4 PCIe switch,
which provide ultra-low latency and low-power bandwidth
scalability to CPUs and specialized accelerator devices. The
switches are capable of up to 32 gigatransfers per second
with up to 100 lanes, 52 ports, 48 Non-Transparent Bridges
(NTBs) and 26 virtual switch partitions. They also feature
comprehensive diagnostics and debugging with per-port performance
and error counters, as well as multiple loopback
modes and real-time eye capture.

Wheel-speed sensor
Allegro MicroSystems
(Manchester, New Hampshire)
announced its new A19360 wheelspeed
and distance sensor. The
company's latest sensor reportedly
provides OEMs with the signal
resolution and reliability required
for advanced levels of automation
in passenger vehicles. Allegro states that the A19360 provides
high-resolution information to automotive systems by generating
extra output events per magnetic cycle with a special protocol
that's compatible with electronic control units (ECUs). It
includes an 8-event-per-magnetic-cycle mode targeted at
ADAS applications, providing an increment for every 5 mm (.19inch)
of tire roll. It also includes a 4-event-per-magnetic-cycle
mode that doubles the number of outputs per magnetic cycle
compared to a normal wheel speed sensor.
