Safety relays
Siemens (Fort Worth, Texas) released
the SIRIUS 3SK series safety relays.
The company states that these relays
have a compact, modular design with
replaceable terminals for enhanced
plant availability, yellow terminal covers
that clearly identify the devices as
safety components and sensor cables
up to 2,000 m (6,561 ft) long. They are
also designed for quick implementation
and, without any programming,
enable the fail-safe monitoring of mechanical
and electronic sensor safety
functions, sensor leads and shutdown
circuit actuators, as well as their own
functionality. The safety relays can be
used as both standalone and integrated
solutions and are certified to the
internationally recognized IEC 62061
and ISO 13849-1 standards, as well as
compliant with the industry's highest
safety requirements, SIL 3 and PL e.

Pail pump
Nordson Electronics Solutions
(Carlsbad, California) introduced a solution
for dispensing single-component
thermal interface materials by integrating
the ASYMTEK Helios SD-960 Series
fluid dispensing platform with the new
FS-EP1 pail pump. Single-component
thermal interface materials are often
used as gap fillers in electronics manufacturing
and can be difficult to feed

AUTOMATED DRIVING FOR SHORT- AND LONG-HAUL
TRUCKING: ARE DRIVERS REALLY YESTERDAY'S NEWS?

Speakers:
Widespread SAE Level 4 and 5 operations in commercial vehicles
may be a little further in the future than originally promised, but
that has neither slowed nor diminished the industry's development
and testing efforts. Trucking in particular is highly motivated to
pursue greater levels of automation to help combat the severe
and worsening driver shortage. This 60-minute Webinar from the
editors of Truck and Off-Highway Engineering examines the latest
developments and sticking points to bringing true driverless
trucks to our roadways.

from the original packaging to the dispense
valve. The FS-EP1 pail pump
pushes material to the dispense valve
using a closed-hydraulic system.
Nordson states that low shearing of the
material ensures that highly conductive
thermal gap fillers do not separate, and
material properties remain unaffected.
There are no moving parts in contact
with the gap filler and no moving parts
outside the pump enclosure, not even in
the fluid line.
