TECH FOCUS:
CybErSECUriTy
Courses are available in-classroom, online, and ondemand
to suit the needs and schedules of working
professionals.
Developed in cooperation with TÜV SÜD experts in
safety, security, and sustainability solutions, SAE
offers an in-depth certification course in
cybersecurity for the automotive industry, specifically
applicable to the development of connected and
autonomous vehicles. The course provides
participants with the necessary basic knowledge to
be able to consider new cybersecurity requirements
according to the ISO/SAE 21434 security standard.
The course is a two-day live online session targeted
toward those already working in the automotive
industry in cybersecurity, management, or audit
environments. Participants develop an understanding
of vehicle quality and risk management, the connection
between threat and risk analysis, security concept,
security specification and verification and validation
concept over the complete life cycle of a vehicle.
The course covers vital topics including:
* Challenges facing the automotive industry due to
the transformation and digitization of mobility
* Automotive cybersecurity principles including
protecting from hackers, protection mechanisms,
terminology, and cybersecurity engineering
throughout the product lifecycle
* Regulations, standardization, legislation relevant to
automotive cybersecurity
* Understanding ISO/SAE 21434 standard, including
practical examples
The course package includes electronic access to
the ISO/SAE 21434 standard at a 10% discount as part
of the bundle; participants who already have access to
the standard can enroll for the course content only.
UPDATE
Successful completion of the
course and final assessment
provides participants with a
certification from TÜV SÜD and
SAE, demonstrating their
mastery of the course content,
as well as CEU/PDU credits
toward licensing and
professional development
requirements.
This Level One course is
designed to provide participants
with a strong understanding of
automotive cybersecurity
standards and regulations,
particularly ISO/SAE 21434/UN
ECE 156, 157 and 158. A Level
Two course is in development to
follow later in 2022, which will
focus on the teaching
participants to implement these
standards and regulations.
The course is offered multiple
times throughout the year,
approximately once per month
through to the end of 2022.
Registration is available through
SAE for $1,603, which includes
the exam fee and the cost to
access the ISO/SAE 21434
standard. The course is also
available for corporate group
learning.
