Chassis Bushings
Vibracoustic (Darmstadt,
Germany) announced its
optimized chassis bushings
for BEVs. The company
states that these bushings
are tuned to handle increased
vehicle weight and
higher preloads while also
offering benefits in terms of
vehicle dynamics, durability,
NVH and ride quality.
Additionally, because BEV
powertrains are substantially
quieter than ICEversions,
Vibracoustic emphasizes
that they have optimized
the new bushings to
compensate for sounds that were previously masked, such
as road noise, chassis excitations and in-cabin noises by using
updated designs and better-suited material compounds.
Vibracoustic also claims that the component designs were
optimized so the overall bushing can handle dynamic load
while driving as well as static preload while stationary.

Supercapacitors
KEMET (Fort
Lauderdale, Florida)
announced its new
supercapacitor for
automotive electronics,
FMU Series. This
FMU series delivers
1,000 hours at 85%
RH-rated voltage
and features an operational
temperature
ranging from
-40° to 105° C (-40° to 221° F). The FMU supercapacitors are
manufactured in an ISO TS 16949 certified plant and are subjected
to PPAP/PSW and change control, according to KEMET.
They reportedly are suited for applications needing a main
power-system backup during a power loss, such as ADAS,
autonomous vehicles and central gateway ECUs. KEMET
claims that these supercapacitors use a proprietary aqueous
electrolyte solution that provides high durability against liquid
leakage, vibrations and thermal shock and high reliability in
harsh environments.

Microphone
GRAS Sound & Vibration (Holte, Denmark) introduced its
new GRAS EQset Microphone aimed at increasing efficiency
and improving test accuracy. The company claims that
EQset offers fixed sensitivity and a flat response curve
across all frequencies. The company also states that the
EQset's flat curve reduces measurement uncertainty and
greatly simplifies microphone setup, monitoring, replacement
and corrections. GRAS claims that this eliminates the
inherent risk of false passes on production lines or correction
error for frequencies outside the calibrated frequency.
