Thermal Interface Material
Parker Hannifin Corporation
(Buckinghamshire, U.K.) announced its
new THERM-A-GAP™ GEL 20, a one-component
thermal interface material with
2.4 W/m-K thermal conductivity for automotive
industry applications. The material
reportedly offers easy dispensing and
requires no secondary curing. The company
also states that the material's heavy
paste-like consistency enables controlled dispensing, and is
suitable for automotive applications such as ECUs, converters,
inverters, on-board chargers, control modules for advanced
driver assistance systems and vehicle infotainment. The gel is
suitable for use in operating temperatures from -55° to 200°
C (-67° to 200° F) and is available in syringe, cartridge and
pail packaging formats.

Sintering Product
MacDermid Alpha
(Waterbury, Conneticuit)
now offers the Argomax
2148 silver sintering product,
designed for electric vehicle power inverters. The
Argomax 2148 reportedly enables the sintering of large packages
or components on gold or silver substrates. The product
reportedly utilizes a pure silver bond line, with a resulting sintered
joint that provides high thermal and electrical conductivity.
The company claims that with its firm attachment to
the inverter, manufacturers benefit from superior component
performance and reliability in extreme temperature ranges.
The company also states that Argomax 2148 is well-suited for
components where a low-pressure application is critical.

Add-on board
MikroElektronika (Belgrade,
Serbia) launched its pH 2 Click
compact add-on board for determining
the alkalinity or acidity of
a sample. The board measures
hydrogen ion activity and produces
an electrical potential/voltage,
which can be further processed
in analog or digital form.
The company states that the pH 2 Click features the MCP607, a
low-bias current op amp from Microchip, and performs level
shifting and high-input impedance buffering in a single-supply
pH-electrode circuit. In addition to LED signaling that is controlled
by the user, temperature compensation also reportedly is
possible by connecting an additional thermometer to the board.

Allegro
MicroSystems
(Manchester,
New Hampshire)
released the
ACS37601 Halleffect
field-current
sensor.
Allegro reportedly
developed
the ACS37601 with overcurrent, overtemperature, and selftest
capabilities. Allegro claims that this is its highest-accuracy
field-current sensor for applications requiring measurement
capability greater than 200 Amperes. According to
Allegro, the ACS37601 is the first ASIL C-rated field-current
sensor that achieves 0.8% sensitivity error and less than 5 mV
offset error over the automotive temperature range, with 30%
less noise than legacy devices. The operating bandwidth from
DC to 240 kHz and fast 2 μs response time enable new performance
in DC battery charging and high-frequency automotive
inverter applications.
