Yung-li lEE, Ph.D. has served as editor-in-chief of the SAE international
Journal of Materials since 2018.
Quite the fellow
In addition to being Senior Fellow in Durability at
Stellantis, Yung-Li Lee, Ph.D., is also an SAE Fellow
(2005). To say he is qualified to serve as editor-in-chief
of the SAE International Journal of Materials and
Manufacturing is an objective understatement.
Subjectively, he tells Update he is " grateful for the
opportunity of collaborating with a team of worldrenowned
experts, the assistant editors, in various
material and manufacturing disciplines to improve the
quality of the IJMM. "
Lee was an associate editor from 2015 to 2017 and was
promoted to an editor-in-chief in 2018. " I was fortunate
enough to be recognized and promoted by Prof.
Mohamed El Sayed of Eastern Michigan University,
former EIC of IJMM, " he said.
His involvement with SAE dates back to 1995, when he
joined the SAE Fatigue Design & Evaluation Committee.
Lee has served as chair or member of five other
committees. In addition, he has won several awards,
including the SAE Forest R. McFarland award for
outstanding service SAE's Engineering Board in 2020.
It's Lee's goal to make IJMM " the most cited journal
among other relevant journals. " n
