Ford is moving quickly to scale its EV
business. In 2022, the company was number
two in EV sales in the U.S., and earlier this
year Ford announced a $3.5 billion
investment to build the country's first
automaker-backed LFP battery plant,
BlueOval Battery Park, in Marshall, Mich.,
creating an additional 2,500 jobs. This
investment is part of the company's
commitment to invest over $50 billion in
electric vehicles by 2026.
Farley's passion for automobiles can be
seen outside of the workplace, as well. He is
a longtime amateur vintage vehicle racer
and collector, with a collection that includes
a 1965 Ford GT 40, 1966 427 Cobra, and
1978 Lola 298. In early 2023, he began his
career as a professional racer. Farley also
recently launched DRIVE, a podcast that
rekindles America's love affair with driving.
He hosts contemporaries who inspire him
from across a variety of industries and fields
to explore how cars tie us together... and
what drives them to succeed and pursue
their passion.
A proud supporter of and frequent
volunteer for the Pope Francis Center in
Detroit, Farley is also dedicated to giving
back to his community. Crediting the
center's executive director Father Tim
McCabe, Farley said: " Father Tim and his

team are building a program that will help
people transition from life on the streets to
a better future... the time I spend with them
is very meaningful. " Farley recently served
as the chairman of the capital campaign for
the center's new Bridge Housing Campus.
The SAE Foundation event will be a true
celebration of the region, industry, and
education, as well as a recognition of the
significant contributions Ford Motor
Company has made toward the mission of
the SAE Foundation. The Ford/SAE
Foundation partnership has had a profound
impact on thousands of students. Ford has
donated over $3.7 million to the SAE
Foundation over the past three decades,
providing scholarships for engineering
students, supporting the development of
the A World In Motion® (AWIM)
Computerized Driver challenge - AWIM
LearnTwice, and the Collegiate Design
Series™.
The Annual Celebration is the single
largest fundraising campaign for
unrestricted giving for the Foundation. This
funding is vital in providing access to high
quality STEM education for kids from Pre-K
through university. The 2022 event hosted a
sellout crowd of over 500 people and raised
over $400,000. Guests will network with
other automotive industry executives and
interact with students who have benefited
from SAE's STEM programs while
supporting a worthwhile cause. Information
