Introducing SAE President, Carla Bailo

Carla Bailo has over 42
years of automotive
industry experience and
is the second woman to
serve as SAE president.
THE WORLD IS MADE BETTER BY ENGINEERS; everything that
a person touches daily is invented, designed, developed, and
produced with engineering talent. From a global standpoint,
the best products are made by diversity of thought and
experiences. SAE has the opportunity to help engineers think
about mobility differently and design the solutions and
standards needed to produce a mobility ecosystem that is
equitable, safe, and clean. Personally, I will work to encourage
diversity to thrive throughout SAE, with the end goal of making
our global environment better and sustainable for many
generations.
Throughout my career in the automotive industry, both
academic and workplace, I have often been the singular
female in the classroom, boardroom, and laboratory. Because
of this, and being only the second female to hold the SAE
