PRESS AWARDS
2024 marks fourth year of consecutive wins for publisher.
WHILE MANY PEOPLE CLAIM SPRING AS THEIR FAVORITE
SEASON, I'm pretty sure only few of us share this one, very
specific reason: it's book award season! It's that magical time in
late winter and early spring when we publishers await our
version of an Academy Award envelope, which comes in the
form of a coveted email notification.
Well, the emails are in, and I'm thrilled to announce that SAE
Books has once again been honored with multiple awards at
the Independent Press Award.
Some background: Each year, experts from different aspects
of the book industry-including publishers, writers, editors,
book cover designers, and professional copywriters-come
together to select the best books of the year published by
small, independent publishers. With dozens of categories and
hundreds of entries from around the world, each judging
committee uses a point system focused on key areas including
writing style, editing, images/figures, book cover, book design,

Chris Johnston and Ed Sobey
and overall quality of the work. Selected Independent Press
Award winners and distinguished favorites are based on overall
excellence.
While this is our fourth year in a row to win an IPA Award,
our authors and team at SAE Books achieved a new milestone
by winning five awards, making it our most successful year yet.
At SAE Books, we're not just about publishing books;
we're about fostering collaboration and trust between our
authors and our product managers. Our authors are not
professional writers. They are engineers from around the
world actively engaged in the industry and invested in
sharing their knowledge. These professionals hold down
full-time jobs and have real lives beyond their careers. It's
our responsibility to ensure the process goes smoothly and
that their expertise is shared effectively through their books.
