Linear Motion Bearings
Absolute Encoder
NB Corp. of America (Hanover Park, IL)
introduced SV and SVW Slide Ways nonrecirculating
linear motion bearings for use
in optical and measurement equipment
where high-precision movement is required.
The SV style consists of two roller cages with precision rollers in a cross
arrangement and four rails with V-shaped raceways. The SVW has one
rail with V-shaped grooves on both sides and two SV rails.

Magnetic Angle Encoder
HEIDENHAIN (Schaumburg, IL) re -
leased the ECM 2400 absolute modular
magnetic angle encoder with functional
safety for machine feedback. It is designed
for machine tool applications that require a sturdy encoder with medium
accuracy. The encoder is suitable for applications with high rotational
speeds, angular accelerations, and limited space due to a low
overall height of the complete system. It works on B-axis lathes with
motorized milling spindles or on the A and C axes of milling machines
where a large hollow shaft encoder is necessary.

KOGANEI International America (Fremont, CA)
introduced the PVR20 Series of media isolation valves
that isolate aggressive gas and liquid media. Stream -
lined passages minimize internal volume to less than 60
microliters using rocker-type design. Features include a
metal-free wetted area for corrosion resistance, powersaving
circuit, service life of up to 10 million cycles, and operating pressure
range from -11 psi to 43.5 psi.

ProSense 8-mm triple-sensing inductive proximity
sensors in flush and non-flush mounting
options that can detect ferrous metals up to a
distance of 6 mm. Also available are inductive proximity sensors with a
metal face to provide more durable protection, with environmental
ratings of IP65/66/67/68 and IP69K. They are available in 8-, 12-, 18-,
and 30-mm barrel sizes with M8 or M12 quick-disconnect connections.

continuous and 50A peak, the drives are suited
for mobile and portable applications such as

height of 22.1 mm. The drives use CANopen for network communication
and they can be configured to work with any servo motor because

Solenoid Valves
Festo (Islandia, NY) offers VYKA, VYKB,
and VZDB media-separated solenoid valves
for vacuum as well as pressures of up to 3 bar
and Kv values up to 969 ml/min. The EPDM,
FKM, and FFKM polymers used for the separating
diaphragms can withstand aggressive media, protecting the interior
of the valves and preventing corrosion. All three valves can control
liquid amounts in the microliter or milliliter range in various dosing
and flow applications.

Magnetic Encoder
TWK-Elektronik (Dusseldorf, Germany) introduced
the TRK38 single-turn magnetic encoder
measuring 38 × 38 mm. Position resolution is 16 bits
per revolution and a certified EtherCAT FSoE interface
enables transmission of safety-related signals to
the higher-level controller or to a safety relay, as well as programming of
the sensor. Features include an aluminum housing for operation in conditions
such as high vibration and shock loads. The non-contact, wearfree
measuring design is suitable for safety applications in a range of
applications.
