Tunable Band-Pass Filters
Otava, Inc. (Moorestown, NJ) announced that 5G millimeter-wave
solutions provider TMY Technology (TMYTEK) has chosen Otava's
OTFL tunable band-pass filters for its communications satellite subsystems.
The OTFL301 is the industry's only digitally tunable band-pass
filter IC with an operating frequency of 24 to 40 GHz and is designed
for use in applications ranging from 5G and defense software-defined
radios to electronic warfare, radar, signals intelligence, and instrumentation. The OTFL301 is
the latest member of Otava's portfolio of tunable band-pass filters available for frequencies
from 2.5 GHz to 40 GHz. It has a center frequency of 22.2 to 37.7 GHz, can handle RF input
power levels up to 1W RMS, and has very high linearity with an input third-order intercept
point (IIP3) of +42 dBm, typical insertion loss of 7 dB, and a VSWR of 1.6:1.

Protection Suite for Surface Vessels
DSIT Solutions (Givat Shmuel, Israel) offers an advanced ASW
protection suite for surface vessels. The Suite detects and tracks
underwater threats such as submarines, midget submarines, and
torpedoes in all bathymetric layers. The ASW Suite includes the
following: The BlackFish™ Hull Mounted Sonar (HMS) or Bow
Mounted Sonar (BMS) systems utilize passive, active, and parallel
modes of operation. The SwordFish™ Towed Array Sonar (TAS)
System, an active and passive variable depth sonar system designed to serve in both littoral and
deep waters, has been adapted for use on vessels of various sizes engaged in a variety of mission
types. The WhitePointer™ UCS, an underwater communication system, designed for voice and
data transmissions between surface ships and submarines. The flexible ASW Suite is configured
to precisely meet the customer's operational requirements.

Waterproof Connector
Yokowo's (Tempe, AZ) TBR and TBP Series of waterproof blade
and receptacle connectors are designed for battery connections
in rugged devices such as tablet PCs, data collection terminals
or drones. With IPX7 waterproof rating (submerged in 1 meter
of water for 30 minutes), the connectors protect devices and
batteries from water ingress damage to the internal electronic
components. Equipped with spring-loaded, dual-beam contacts, the floating contact design
absorbs any mating misalignment making it suitable for high vibration/high shock wet or
washdown applications. Contacts feature a 3A current rating with 50m contact resistance
and 2,000 mating cycles.

Color Coded Epoxy
for Proper Mixing
Master Bond EP51CC is a two
component, fast-setting epoxy
with a color coding system
where Part A is white
and Part B is black. The two parts combine into a
uniform gray color paste, which indicates proper
mixing. This fast curing, non-drip compound is ideal
for bonding and sealing applications with a forgiving
mix ratio. https://www.masterbond.com/tds/ep51cc

Chordal Height Gage
The L.S. Starrett Co.
(Athol, MA) has introduced
a custom designed
and manufactured Chordal
Height Gage (a.k.a. DO
Gage) to be used for measuring
the opening heights
of turbine vanes at specific
locations to verify that
an aircraft engine will get
proper air flow. Despite its small footprint,
the gage has three independent probes that
are used to take measurements, including a
free-floating central gage body that allows the
middle probe to take accurate readings along
the trailing edge, regardless of the variable contours
that are often on these nozzles. The gage
is built in a " Lazy-L " shape to enable linear
readings to be taken perpendicular to the trailing
edge of the blades, giving a dimension for
the smallest opening that air can flow through.
Accuracy and repeatability of the Chordal
Height Gage is within 0.0005 " , although the
indicator readouts are generally set to a 0.001 "
resolution per customer requirements.
