environment for creating
1 to 1.4GHz Solid State Transmitter
Empower RF Systems (Inglewood, CA) Model 2244 is a long duty cycle,
pulsed transmitter operating from 1 to 1.4 GHz, designed for maximum
waveform flexibility. Configured for L-Band radar applications, the 2244
transmitter layout consists of a system controller in a 3U 19-inch rack unit
and 6 (expandable up to 16) hot swappable 2U amplifier drawers with
each amplifier drawer containing an integrated power supply in its 2U
chassis. There is no separate system level power supply. This arrangement
eliminates the risk of an RF section or single power supply failure taking
the entire amplifier offline. In the event of an RF pallet or PA booster failure
only a fractional reduction of output power is realized, and the amplifier system remains
on air. These Fast Field Replaceable (FFR) drawers allow hot or muted swapping with less
than 15 minutes MTTR.

Edge AI SSDs
Innodisk Corporation (New Taipei City, Taiwan) has
launched a new edge computing solid-state drive (SSD)
product line, consisting of the 2.5 " SATA 3TS6-P, 3TS9-P
and M.2 (P80) 4TS2-P drives. Innodisk's new edge AI SSDs
feature low latency, high DWPD (drive writes per day), and large capacities. In addition, the
included iCell and AES technologies protect data from losses and breaches. Edge AI SSDs
inside edge servers are required to process data at high speeds at the source, instead of sending
all data back to a central data center, thus improving latency and reducing cost. With
capacities reaching 6.4TB, these new SSDs have the potential to disrupt the edge storage
market and improve end user experiences.

Quarter-Wave RF Surge Protector
PolyPhaser (Irvine, CA), an Infinite Electronics brand, has
introduced a new quarter-wave RF surge protector to guard equipment
from electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and power surges caused
by lightning or other strong electrical changes. The new QWPDMDF-ER
coaxial surge protector offers an extended frequency
range, supporting 555 MHz to 4.5 GHz while suppressing DC
surge. Additionally, this new 7/16 DIN surge protector incorporates quarter-wave stub technology
to protect equipment at up to 200 watts of maximum input power. This coax surge
protector features a male 7/16-inch DIN input and a female 7/16 DIN output. It has low letthrough
energy and supports low passive intermodulation (PIM) levels up to 160 dBc along
with a DC block topology.

SAR Location System
Smith Meyers (Beds, UK) recently announced its T-A system,
fully qualified to RTCA DO160 (G). This new addition to the
ARTEMIS family offers users a merging of mobile phone detection,
location and communication along with dual band maritime
AIS and COSPAS SARSAT in a single 4.2 Kg unit. Covering
all global cellular frequencies and technologies, the T-A matches
the ranges achieved by the earlier ARTEMIS system, identifying,
locating and communicating with mobile handsets at ranges in excess of 30 km. Its T-U system
offers the same cellular capability as the T-A in a small SWaP 1.4 Kg housing. ARTEMIS
turns any mobile phone into a rescue beacon, only requiring two small antennas to generate
a latitude/longitude fix at ranges in excess of 30 km, offering an alternative to traditional
airborne sensors and direction-finding systems.

Multi-Drone Mapping Technology
Reveal Technology (San Francisco, CA) has teamed with
Teal Drones - a division of Red Cat Holdings (San Juan, Puerto
Rico) - to enhance Reveal's " Farsight " mapping software by
automatically combining imagery from multiple unmanned
aerial systems (UAS) to produce high-fidelity 3D maps. Just
introduced in June, Teal's 4-Ship multi-drone system allows a
single operator to simultaneously control up to four of Teal Drones' Golden Eagle drones,
allowing for instant and ongoing 360-degree surveillance of a target. Farsight gives military
teams virtually real-time access to detailed 3D maps of a target area that can be overlaid
with: Line-of-sight analysis, terrain analysis and graphing, a vertical measurement tool for
determining the height of buildings and structures that may be part of an operation, and a
helicopter landing zone survey.
