n Demo Package for Health Patches
Henkel, Dusseldorf,
Germany, and Quad Industries,
Sint-Niklaas,
Belgium, have developed
a demo package
of 12 electrodes designed
to allow engineers
to quickly test the
functionalities of smart
health patches. The
electrodes contain five
different Henkel materials. The demo patches
contain a dry electrode adhesive that ensures
the crucial electrical contact with the skin. This
adhesive provides enables the health patch to
be worn for multiple days. In addition, the
demo electrodes contain a novel conductive
silver ink that facilitates the stretchability of
the electrode. This novel ink enables the electrical
signal to remain a consistent high quality
while also providing a high comfort level for
the patient.

n EMI Silicone
An EMI silicone filled with nickel-coated graphite particles is available
from Specialty Silicone Products, Ballston Spa, NY. The 40-durometer
SSP502-40 is electrically conductive, environmentally resistant, and provides
proven levels of shielding against electromagnetic interference
(EMI). It combines EMI shielding and environmental sealing in a cost-effective
conductive elastomer. It offers comparable performance levels to
silver-filled silicones while supporting thinner, smaller, and lighter-weight
designs. It has a minimum attenuation level of 115 dB at 20 MHz. Because the base elastomer
is silicone, it also seals out moisture and resists both high and low temperatures.

n Hinged-Lip Enclosures
ROLEC, Bridgeville, PA, offers hinged-lid enclosures for industrial electronics
in eight sizes. The enclosures are available with or without a transparent
window for displays. The polyDOOR's integrated hinges allow the
lid to be removed in a few seconds. The lid is locked with polyamide fixings
- either standard slotted screw heads, triangular, or square heads (to prevent
tampering), or hand screws for rapid access. Threaded pillars inside can be used for mounting
PCBs, terminal rails, and component assemblies. Options include choice of lid fixings, external
mounting brackets, a silicon gasket, mounting plate, cable glands, cross rails, and DIN rails.
