hispanos de altos recursos en los
EE.UU. representaron el 29% de la
población hispana en el país— una
cifra que se espera se duplicará para
el 2050.
Tener recursos profundos no
representa un crecimiento en la
asimilación. Los hispanos de altos
recursos viven en dos culturas, ya que
tres cuartos hablan inglés y español.
Además, los hispanos de altos recursos
gastan más en los ingredientes frescos
que la población hispana en general,
ya que alimentar a sus familias sanamente es una prioridad.
Los hispanos de altos recurso
son más jóvenes que los blancos
no-hispanos de altos recursos (33
años comparado con 39) y viven
vidas activas, a menudo con familias jóvenes. Incluso, el 85% de los
hispanos de altos recursos viven en un
hogar de 3 o más personas, comparado
con el 65% de los no-hispanos de
altos recursos.

altos recursos residen en todo el
país, se concentran en áreas urbanas

una fuerte influencia en la economía
general. Con 52 millones en la población de EE.UU., los hispanos tienen
en conjunto un impresionante poder
de compra de 1,2 billones de dólares.
Dentro de la población hispana en
general, sin embargo, las mujeres
son las que están en el asiento del
conductor, de acuerdo con un informe
reciente publicado por Nielsen.
Las mujeres hispanas son el
instrumento de crecimiento dentro de
la población femenina en los EE.UU.
y se espera que representarán el 30%
de toda la población femenina para el
2060, mientras que se espera que la
población blanca no-hispana bajará
al 43%. Con el 86% de las mujeres
hispanas al mando de las decisiones
de compra dentro de los hogares, los
tiempos están cambiando y el poder
económico se está moviendo.
“Las latinas son un factor clave

los consumidores, reconociendo las

de Nielsen.
Dentro de áreas significativas, las
latinas son ávidas usuarias de la tecnología y de los medios sociales para
mantenerse conectadas culturalmente
mientras están móviles y llevando a
cabo sus actividades cotidianas. Para
muchas, la tecnología personal y la red
social les está ayudando a mantener su
cultura étnica, idioma y tradiciones.
Los hogares hispanos gastarán
$400,000 más que los blancos
no-hispanos durante el resto de
sus vidas, según investigaciones de
Geoscape.
Y cada 30 segundos, un hispano
cumple 18 años en los EE.UU., amplificando la influencia de la minoría
étnica de mayor crecimiento en el
país. Un estudio nuevo encuentra
que los hispanos se mantienen fieles
a similitudes significativas en lo que
respecta a la alimentación, en particular, su preferencia por los ingredientes frescos, locales e ingredientes
integrales y platillos tradicionales que
ayudan a preservar su relación con su
familia y su país de origen.

de investigación de mercado, Grupo
Hartman y MSLGROUP, el Informe
del Consumidor Latino Multi-Cultural
revela que los hispanos elegirán los
alimentos frescos por encima de
los alimentos envasados (82%), y
compran más productos locales hoy
que hace un año (51 %) .
