etails can make a huge difference
in the success or failure of any
bakery business. Just ask Maria
Casillas, who owns Panadería Maria
in Fontana, Calif., with her husband
Heliodoro. Recognizing the importance of
a trusted partner, the bakery owner stresses
the importance of working with a bakery
supplier you can count on every single day.
"Ever since we started working with
BakeMark, my business doubled, I found
the ideal ingredients and the technical
support was there when I needed it," Maria
Casillas explains.
Indeed, business at Panadería Maria has
grown so tremendously that the owners
had to open a second location in Fontana.
Today, both are doing extremely well. Top
selling items include bolillos, conchas, teleras,
and cheesecakes,
"We make novias, diablos, puros, borregos,
cuernitos de Guatemala, and ojos de Pancha,"
Maria Casillas says, "We use a variety
on ingredients of the highest quality, all
provided by BakeMark."
Years ago, the owners recall that they
started their panadería by pure luck and
since that time have been blessed by
strong and continued support from the
local community for high quality bakery
products that feature authentic flavors.
"My husband and I used to work in a
supermarket," she says, "but it went out
of business and we went out looking for
work when we stumbled on a bakery that
had recently closed. We asked the owner
of the shopping center if he had a job for
us, but instead he asked us to take over the
bakery, which still had ingredients to begin
working. Without one penny of investment
we were able to start our own business, and
we are now in our 23rd year of baking for
our community."
"The panadería business is no diferrent
than any other business, you have to
evolve with the demographic changes and
with the newer generations, but without
deviating from the authenticity," Maria
Casillas shares.
Working with BakeMark enables the

"I don't have to go anywhere else since

rep always comes through for us," Maria
Casillas says. "My strategy is simple. We
use nothing but the best and we take
pride on what we do and that shows on
our bread and the customers keep coming
back!"
