DIGITAL JOURNEY
SINCE I JOINED THE DAWN FOODS TEAM a year
and a half ago, a Thomas Edison quote has played
on a loop in my head: "There's a way to do it
better - find it." The reality of our industry today is
that our landscape is changing. The need for digital
transformation and eCommerce has never been
greater as we all seek more effective and efficient
ways of working. Dawn Foods is no stranger to taking
the big steps needed to produce positive outcomes,
not only for the company, but for its over 40,000
customers who work tirelessly to serve consumers
from sunrise to sunset.

Looking back at Dawn's 100-year existence, our
new eCommerce platform is reflective of a long
history of business transformation and industry
disruption. Whether we reflect on the 1920s in
Jackson, Michigan, when we created the first-ever
commercial donut mix, or in 1982 when we expanded
into distribution, the company has been focused on
driving positive outcomes and serving our customers.
Fast forward to 2020, I'm proud of our ability

to blend efficiency and effectiveness with positive
impact in our new eCommerce platform. Existing
Dawn customers across the United States can now
have a streamlined ordering process - making it more
convenient, efficient and simple to navigate for all
their baking supply needs.
There's no doubt that embarking on a digital
journey has driven significant change across Dawn's
core business. Transformational changes like this
are hard to envision and even harder to pull off, but
thanks to input from our 100-customer pilot program
and our third-party digital partners, Dawn customers
now have an online ordering platform where they can
conveniently explore all of our products, as well as
find insights to help grow their business.
The days of bakeries having to use traditional
ordering methods - such as ordering via a sales
person- are coming to an end. With Dawn's
eCommerce platform, retail customers will have
more power at their fingertips and time in their day.
They can quickly place orders and see Dawn's entire
product catalog. And spend time with their Dawn
sales person focusing on ways to grow their business.
They can also use the following features:
* Accessible search tools including filtering, sorting
and pairing suggestions
* Ability to access the platform via desktop, tablet or
mobile devices
* 24/7 ordering, allowing customers to place orders
while doing inventory
* Payment portal integration to view and manage
invoices
As we continue listening to customer feedback,
new platform features and updates will be developed
to enhance the user experience.
We're at the start of a new dawn in the bakery
industry. Our digital journey at Dawn Foods has
just begun, and we will continue to innovate -
leveraging our partnerships with customers, insights
and expertise to continue to transform. As Edison
suggested, if there is a better way to do something,
we'll find a way to make it happen together.
