creativity to a higher level
with inspiring ideas and
recipe support.
Key West Donut
The children and young adults are
encouraged to participate in the creativity
process. They take photos on their phone,
and the bakery owners convert them to
photos that they stick on the wall. The
donut photos are typically ranked by order
of customer favorites.
" It's an interactive way to keep people
excited about what is in the store, " the
owner says.
Dawn Foods helps the donut shop take
creativity to a higher level with inspiring
ideas and recipe support. Donuts like PB
& Jelly and Caramel Apple Pie drive traffic
and increase customer satisfaction with
on-trend combinations that are fun and
flavorful. Campfire Treats are another
summer donut favorite, featuring mini
marshmallows and chocolate frosting on
top on a glazed donut.
EDUCATION STATION
Education is another key component of
the mission of Pink Daddies Donuts. " My
background is in education, " points out
Miller, who runs a sign language resource
website, Signing Savvy. " I have always
cooked and baked with my students. We
are hiring deaf kids to work at our bakery.
People can come in and point to what they
want to order on the board, and our kids
can make them. People also learn some
sign language. "
This is another great interactive tool for
learning, and the entire community is
better for it.
" This a fun place to be, and people love it, "
he says of what he hopes will be the first
of more donut stores. " It is working really
well. "
THE 4 J'S
Pink Daddies Donuts was created by the
four J's: John Miller, Jerome Bailey, Joel
Cutler, and Joshua Zitting. The partners
and friends had a standing dinner in 2020
during lockdown. Over these dinners they
discussed things like childhood dreams,
and the desire to open a business in St
Pete. All four J's loved the city of St. Pete
and wanted to be a bigger part of the
community. Being that all four came from
the business world and John Miller being a
baker, they came up with the idea of Pink
Daddies Donuts and Delites.
FROM SIMPLE DREAM TO
REALITY
They didn't want it to just be any donut
shop, however. They wanted it to be bright
and have an old-school feel with a new
flair. So, of course, pink and turquoise was
the go-to,
with a big pink neon sign for Instagram
selfies, and a pink fridge to match.
The menu includes homemade ice cream,
fresh made-to-order donuts topped with
so many goodies, coffee, and homemade
brownies and cookies.
