dip brand now called
House Party
The maker of a plant-based spin
on cheese dip has adopted a new
name to reflect the product's role
as a " quintessential American house
party food. "
The brand formerly known as
LOCA Foods, Inc. is now House
Party, a nod to how cheese sauces
originally were marketed as a " party
fancy " food, a staple in such dishes
as cheesy taters, bean casseroles
and crock pot dips, said founder
Lauren Joyner, who launched the
business four years ago.
" I grew up eating these foods, all
of which started my lifelong love
affair with cheese dip, " she said.
" They're still part of the Southern
cuisine I enjoy today, with a dairyfree,
modern twist of course. "
Available in mild and hot flavors,
House Party dips are formulated
with sustainable ingredients,
including carrots, sunflower oil,
potatoes, nutritional yeast and
tomato paste. The products are
free from the top nine allergens,
including dairy, nuts and soy.
Backed by Siddhi Capital, Clear
Current Capital and Rose Culinary,
among other investors, House Party
is set for retail and foodservice
expansion this year, Joyner said,
noting the new branding and
packaging provide a " longer
runway " for product innovation.
The products are available
online at housepartysnacks.
com and goodeggs.com, and
sold in regional Whole Foods
Market and Foxtrot Market stores.
Additionally, House Party dip is
served at universities, restaurants
and food trucks throughout the
United States, as well as the Oracle
Park baseball stadium in San
Francisco.

Armored Fresh's
plant-based cheeses
make US debut
Plant-based cheese maker Armored
Fresh announced the US launch of
its products in New York City.
Three types of the brand's
cubed cheese - cheddar, plain and
blueberry - are being distributed to
retailers in Manhattan and Brooklyn,
and the products are available to
consumers throughout the US via
the Armored Fresh website.
A US-based subsidiary of Seoulbased
food manufacturer Yangyoo
Co., Ltd., Armored Fresh shared that
the US launch comes after it raised
$23 million in Series Pre-B funding.
" It's a great privilege and pleasure
of mine to be able to partake in this
exciting launch of Armored Fresh
Cheese, " said Daniel Yang, sales
manager for Armored Fresh USA.
" We understand that the US market
for cheese is one of the biggest in
the world and there is a need for
great tasting plant-based cheese.
Understanding the demand from
consumers for a cheese that tastes
great and provides great nutrients is
a passion of our company. "
