New juice to offer three daily servings of vegetables

ConAgra Foods expands Rotel sauce line
OMAHA — ConAgra Foods, Inc. is expanding its Rotel brand with the introduction of Rotel Zesty Tomato & Green Chili Sauce. The sauce is available in two varieties: original and mild. “The addition of our new Rotel Zesty Tomato & Green Chili Sauce to the Rotel line-up gives home cooks another convenient way to add some flavor and heat to their favorite recipes,” said Ryan Clark, vice-president and general manager of tomatoes at ConAgra Foods. “From traditional family favorites to exciting new dishes, this versatile product can liven up a wide variety of recipes.” The Rotel Zesty Tomato & Green Chili Sauce is available in select grocery chains and mass retailers nationwide, with a suggested retail price of 69c for an 8-oz can. MIDDLETOWN, N.J. O — The FaVe Juice Co. has introduced FaVe, a beverage the company claims offers three daily servings of vegetables and has 60 calories. FaVe said it uses a patented process to achieve the new beverage’s level of nutrition. “Daily fruit and

vegetable servings are very important,” said David Kirkpatrick, chief marketing officer. “The U.S.D.A. MyPlate suggests an average of 9 to 10 servings is optimal — but most Americans average less than half this amount, or about four servings per day.” The new product

is made with fruit and vegetable juices and has a simple label that does not feature preservatives or any added sweeteners, according to the company. The new beverage will make its debut in January and be sold nationwide. FBN
