Gen Z and Millennial consumers
find that the world can be a little

sweeter with tasty treats. They
find comfort in a brand that can
deliver that satisfaction, which is
why Hershey branded products
have remained a popular inclusion in desserts.
The Hershey Company's study
examined why this relationship
is so strong, and why brand
power drives traffic with young
diners.

Branded Desserts Take the Cake

W

hen it comes to younger generations'
willingness to try a new type of branded
food category, branded desserts are the
top preference. The majority of both Gen Z and
Millennials are willing to try a branded dessert for
the first time. Branded desserts are also the top
category to try for the first time with both men
and women.
When asked how likely they would be to try a
variety of branded food categories, Gen Z and
Millennials listed branded desserts as their #1
choice. This was the highest rated category of
branded item for both generational groups, more
than branded snacks and beverages.
Desserts have a strong motivating factor, with
47% of Gen Z and Millennials choosing restaurants they frequent just for desserts. Hershey
branded desserts are especially powerful in
generating interest among Gen Z and Millennial
consumers. According to the national study, 70%
