As humans one of our greatest needs is
connection. The primary vehicle through
which we build connections is vulnerability.
Too many people, particularly those who
have lived through trauma, grief, and other
significant life disruptions are terrified
to tell their stories and don't understand
how to move through the discomfort that
storytelling creates. Enter Terina Maldonado,
a survivor of childhood abuse and sexual
assault. Terina takes her audiences on
a journey of discovery, healing, and
empowerment as she shows them how
sharing their stories can accelerate their own
healing and inspire those around them to do
the same. She pulls back the curtains and
shares how her own vulnerable storytelling
about child sexual grooming went viral,
creating her own deeper healing while
creating a positive global impact. Audiences
will leave this soul-stirring presentation
woken to the power of their voices, able
to use their own stories to have greater
influence, heal themselves, release shame for
any role they feel they played in what they've
experienced, and share their stories to
impact others. They'll be more comfortable
when they are vulnerable, and they will

Why Don't You Get a " Real Job " ?

When I was a little girl in New York City,
Saturdays were the day my father and I
walked to the neighborhood bakery to
buy bread and a dessert for dinner. The
excitement of seeing what was in their
bakery case and getting to pick out a treat
was an experience I never forgot. Now, I am
on the other side of the counter and get to
see the same excitement in my customers'
faces. The Donut Station has given me the
opportunity to make people happy on a
day-to-day basis. What other profession has
the ability to influence the beginning and
the end of someone's day? Despite this, my
employees and I have been looked down
upon because we do not have a 'real job.' I
am not sure how or when this happened in
our society, but working in the baking/food/
customer service industry is viewed by some
as less than. How many bakeries were never
opened because the owner was talked out
of it? How many didn't pursue their passion
for cooking? What determines a 'real job'?
Money? Place of employment? The dress
code? What is the purpose of a job? Who
decides?

speaker will introduce the current food
safety landscape and challenges in
baking. He will present the various stages
of the baking supply chain and suggest
ideas for enhancing food safety at each
stage. He will speak from the views of
the farmers, processors, manufactures,
consumers and industry to address the
importance of maintaining the highest food
safety standards. This will not be a sales
presentation. The goal of the presentation
is to bring together the roles of industry
stakeholders into a single narrative to
collectively achieve food safety for the
baking industry.
