Cargill Flour Milling has agreed
to lease Italgrani U.S.A.'s Ayer,
Mass., flour mill. In addition,
Italgrani has announced plans
to double the milling capacity
of its St. Louis mill.
A "catastrophic failure" of a
large compressor at the Eddyville, Iowa, corn wet milling facility of Cargill, Inc.
will make for a sizable reduction in production capacity
for the next six months.
Farmland Industries, Inc.,

Fire caused
extensive damage Jan. 21 at the
grain elevator complex of International Multifoods Corp. at
Duluth, Minn., destroying one
of the company's two elevators. Two days earlier, in a fire
and explosion at a feed mill
at a Liberty, Mo., near Kansas
City, three persons were killed
and seven others were injured.
