Nutritiously enhance items with
extruded soy crisps
New extruded soy crisp products allow manufacturers to

Firmenich gains rights to sucralose
enhancer from Senomyx
Firmenich, Geneva, Switzerland, will be granted exclusive rights on a worldwide basis to commercialize
S2383, a flavor enhancer of the high-intensity sweetener
sucralose, in virtually all product categories, according
to a collaborative commercialization and license agreement between Firmenich and San Diego-based Senomyx, Inc., which makes S2383.
"We believe that Firmenich offers key strengths in
the areas of product development, proprietary formulation systems and manufacturing that may allow us to
accelerate commercialization of S2383," said Kent Snyder, president and chief executive officer of Senomyx.
"In addition, we believe their capabilities and existing
strong customer relationships may facilitate market
acceptance for the use of this new flavor ingredient in
beverages, dairy products, baked goods, snack foods,
desserts and oral care products."
Senomyx announced on Nov. 5 that the Flavor and
Extract Manufacturers Association had determined
S2383 to be Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS).
"S2383 may be appropriate for many of our clients
who are searching for unique methods to reduce the
cost of sweeteners used in their products," said Patrick
Firmenich, chief executive officer of Firmenich.

national averages. Overall, 87.8% of sales (equipment and
engineering) and 91.7% of service customers indicated they
are receiving the value they expect relative to the price paid.

Denomega, Tempo enter partnership
Denomega Nutritional Oils and Tempo Canada Inc. have
entered a partnership to serve the bakery, spreads and nutritional/dietary supplement sectors in the Canadian market.
"Denomega expended a great effort to find the right distributor for our products," said Ron Wheelwright, Denomega's senior account manager for North America and South
America. "We looked for a unique combination of technical
competence and sales ability."
Denomega produces omega-3 fatty acid products and has

dry ingredients
