Bob Junge, retired baker and longtime
member of American Society of Baking, dies
COFFEYVILLE, KAS. - Robert C.
Junge, a former executive with Junge
Bakery in Coffeyville, died May 16 at
age 94. At the time of his death Mr.
Junge was the oldest living member of
the American Society of Baking.
A native of Chicago, Mr. Junge was
a graduate of the Chicago Baking Institute. He married the late Betty W.
Junge in July 1942. Mr. Junge served
in World War II in Fort Warren,
Wyo., as a staff sergeant. He taught

After an honorable discharge,
Mr. Junge began a career in baking
at Junge Baking Co., Inc., first at a
Joplin, Mo., baking plant and soon
afterward at the company's Coffeyville plant, where he was general
manager. Junge operated three baking plants (an additional one in Pittsburg, Kas.). The company continued
in operation until the early 1980s.

Following his career in baking,
Mr. Junge spent 20 years with Medicalodges, Inc., a Coffeyville-based
health care company.
Mr. Junge was predeceased by
his wife. He is survived by his children, Bobbie Shelton and husband
Don from Longview, Texas; Richard Junge (Julie), Oklahoma City;
Jimmy Junge (Carla), missionaries in
Ghana, West Africa; and Betty-Jane
Junge, Coffeyville; a sister, Dorothy
Blair, Rochester, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 21
in Coffeyville. MBN
