Food service and military inroads cited as gains for whole grains
SAN ANTONIO — Whole grains have emerged as an integral part of many foods programs serviced by Compass Group North America, said Jennifer Ignacio M.S., R.D., nutrition communications manager for Compass Group North America. The growing importance of whole grains at Compass Group, a leader in food service management and support services, was discussed at the recent international conference sponsored by the Whole Grains Council Oct. 17-19 at the San Antonio Marriott River Center. Agribusiness unit spurs growth at Bunge
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Strong performance in the company’s Agribusiness segment contributed to higher income and sales in the third quarter at Bunge Ltd. Net income in the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $297 million, equal to $1.92 per share on the common stock, which compared with $140 million, or 89c per share, in the previous year’s third quarter. Hearing on Hostess plan set for Nov. 29; ﬁve plants to be closed
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — A hearing has been set for Nov. 29 to determine the adequacy of the reorganization plan of Hostess Brands, Inc. The hearing will be held in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York, in White Plains. Objections to the reorganization plan must be ﬁled with the court no later than Nov. 19. Hostess ﬁled its proposed reorganization plan Oct. 10. As part of its reorganization, Hostess Brands, Inc. will close ﬁve baking plants, the company said in its reorganization plan.
