as a panelist during the upcoming annual meeting of the American Bakers Association. The session, "Maximizing the Relevancy
of Baking to Power Growth," also
will feature panelists Joe Schechinger, vice-president of non-protein foods for Wendy's QSCC,
Inc., (Quality Supply Chain Cooperative), Dublin, Ohio; and
Kevin Davis, president and chief
executive officer of Bristol Farms,
a supermarket chain based in
Carson, Calif. The moderator
will be Leslie Sarasin, president
and c.e.o. of the Food Marketing
Institute. The group will address
the complexity and dynamism of
the present day consumer marketplace and will identify ways
for bakers to be as relevant and
valuable as possible.

Income, sales up at
specialty foods maker
COLUMBUS, OHIO - Net income at Lancaster Colony Corp.
in the second quarter ended
Dec. 31, 2015, was $34,511,000,
equal to $1.26 per share on the
common stock, up nearly 5%
from $32,954,000, or $1.21 per
share, in the same period a
year ago. Sales increased 7% to
$324,769,000 from $303,411,000.
"Core retail channel sales benefitted from some increased pricing in response to higher egg
costs, nice growth in our Marzetti refrigerated salad dressings, New York brand croutons,
and Olive Garden dressings,
offset by declines in our frozen
product lines," Jay Gerlach,

28 conference call with analysts.

Millers meeting to
study food safety
WASHINGTON - The Food
Safety Modernization Act will
be the subject of a special education session March 14 during
the annual division meetings
of the North American Millers' Association. Key aspects
of FSMA that impact millers
will be featured during the
session. Topics will include a
review of HACCP vs. hazard
analysis and risk-based preventive controls, supply chain
implications for millers, and
a review of the final rule for
preventive controls for human food and the final rule for
preventive controls for animal
food. Presenters will include
Jesse Leal, Quality Services
Manager-Food Safety Training, AIB International, and Ricardo Carvajal, NAMA F.D.A.
counsel with the law firm of
Hyman, Phelps and McNamara PC. The NAMA meeting
will be held March 12-15, at the
Loews Don CeSar Hotel in St.
Pete Beach, Fla.
