Mike Gude promoted to publisher
at Milling & Baking News
KANSAS CITY - G. Michael Gude has
been named publisher of Milling & Baking News. Mr. Gude is a 35-year veteran of
Sosland Publishing Co. (S.P.C.), and currently serves as director of publishing for Food Business News, Baking &
Snack and Culinology.
Mr. Gude joined S.P.C. in 1982 as
project coordinator for the China
Encounter, the first international
grain, milling and baking symposium held in the People's Republic Gude
of China. Following the seminar, Mr.
Gude assumed the duties of sales manager
for Milling & Baking News. In 1983, he was
named general manager of Baking Equipment, a magazine covering manufacturing
procedures and plant engineering that was

offered as a quarterly supplement to Milling & Baking News. The supplement later
was launched as a separate publication -
what has become the highly successful Baking & Snack magazine.
Mr. Gude was named director
of sales for Milling & Baking News
in 1986, and in 1992 he was promoted to associate publisher of
the magazine, a position he has
held for the past 24 years.

Mark Smucker next president,
c.e.o of J.M. Smucker Co.
ORRVILLE, OHIO - Mark T. Smucker
will become president and chief executive
officer of the J.M. Smucker Co. on May
1. Mr. Smucker is currently president of
consumer and natural foods for the company. He succeeds Richard K. Smucker,
who will become executive chairman of
the board as Timothy P. Smucker transitions from that role to chairman emeritus
and will remain on the company's board
of directors as a non-employee director.

LOS ANGELES - Snack it Forward
L.L.C., a maker of better-for-you
snacks, including Sunkist Fruit Chips,
has strengthened its management team
with the addition of several industry
veterans to key management roles.
Scott Sturgill, a food and nutrition industry executive with more than 25 years
of experience, has joined the company as
chief product officer. Mr. Sturgill spent
the previous four years as vice-president
of product development at South Beach
Diet. Earlier, he held executive leadership positions in R.&D. and corporate
purchasing at Nellson Nutraceutical.
Additionally, he has held positions in
product development at Mars, Inc.
David Cosgrove has joined the company as vice-president of finance. Mr.
Cosgrove is a corporate finance and

He earlier worked for The Boeing Co.,
Pacific Energy Partners and Memorial
Resources Development. He also has
provided merger and acquisition transaction execution advisory to executive

Kevin Kuehler has been hired as vicepresident of marketing and insights. Mr.
Kuehler is a marketing and sales executive with more than 20 years of experience with Fortune 500 consumer packaged goods companies. He has managed
food, drug and mass sales teams with
companies such as SC Johnson and Pfizer, and has held marketing leadership
roles at Philips and Mattel. MBN

publisher and founder of Where Magazine
- Kansas City.
He is a past president of both the Allied
Trades of the Baking Industry and the Midwest Allied Trades of the Baking Industry,
and past chairman of the Baking Equipment Manufacturers Association. Mr. Gude
is treasurer of the Grain Foods Foundation
and is on several industry boards, including the Biscuit & Cracker Manufacturers'
Association's allied board and the Missouri
Association of Publishers' board of directors. He also is a member of the American
Society of Baking and AACC International.
Mr. Gude received a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University

Mark R. Belgya and Steven Oakland to
the additional management roles of vice
chair, effective May 1. Mr. Belgya, who is
currently senior vice-president and chief
financial officer, will become vice chair
and c.f.o., and Mr. Oakland, currently
president of the company's coffee and
food service units, will become vice chair
and president of U.S. Food and Beverage.
In addition to his role as c.f.o., Mr. Belgya will be responsible for strategy, mergers and acquisitions, government and industry affairs, and information services
for the company. Mr. Oakland will be
responsible for the company's U.S. Food

ADM selects president for
North American Refined Oils
CHICAGO - Erik Heggen has been
named president, North American Refined
Oils for Archer Daniels Midland Co. He
will oversee the company's North American vegetable oils refineries and its oils and
fats product portfolio in the region.
Mr. Heggen replaces Ray Bradbury,
who recently was appointed president,
risk management, for ADM's Corn business unit. Mr. Heggen joined ADM in
2001. He has held key roles in the North
American Refined Oils group since 2008.

customers by paying close attention to
evolving customer needs and leveraging
technology, especially to help drive our
customer profitability capabilities," said
