Schwan's Co. has agreed to acquire MaMa Rosa's Pizza, L.L.C.,
Sidney, Ohio, from HGGC, Palo
Alto, Calif. Financial terms were
not discussed. Founded in 1979,
MaMa Rosa's makes products
for the food service and retail
markets under the MaMa Rosa's
and Fight'n Tomato Pizza Co.
brands. The company employs
about 250 people and operates
in a 160,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Sidney. The
sale is expected to be completed
on June 15. "For Schwan's, this
acquisition demonstrates our
commitment to the U.S. pizza
market and gives us an opportunity to immediately expand
our pizza business," said Dimitrios Smyrnios, chief executive
officer of Schwan's Co. "MaMa
Rosa's will become part of a
world-class team that makes
high-quality frozen foods for
food service, home delivery and
retail outlets."

Dave's Killer Bread
heads to Canada
THOMASVILLE, GA. - Flowers Foods, Inc. has granted
exclusive licensing rights to
Weston Bakeries Ltd., Toronto, to produce and market its
Dave's Killer Bread brand in
Canada. Effective immediately,
Weston will begin importing
and distributing the brand
to grocery, drug and c-store
channels, with eventual plans
to make the product locally in
Canada. "We couldn't be more
excited to expand our loyal
fan base of 'Killer Breadheads'
to the Canadian market, and

Weston Bakeries is the perfect
partner to make this happen,"
said David Roach, senior vicepresident of organics, Flowers
Foods. Dave's Killer Bread was
first introduced at the Portland
Farmers Market in Portland,
Ore., in 2005 and was acquired
by Flowers Foods in 2015, allowing its products to be more
widely
distributed
across
the United States. Five of the
brand's 19 varieties will be sold
in Canada.

Oreo O's returning
to shelves
ST. LOUIS - Oreo O's, a readyto-eat cereal featuring miniature
Oreo cookie bits and a crème
coating, will be sold exclusively
at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. for three
months beginning
June 23, according
to Post Holdings.
The cereal, which
debuted in 1998,
was phased out in
2007. Post said the
new variation of
the cereal will be
similar to what it
looked like 10 years ago. Oreo
O's will have a suggested retail
price of $3.98 per box.

Precision acquires
Meyer Industries
PELLA, IOWA - Precision, Inc.
has acquired Meyer Industries,
Inc., San Antonio. Meyer is a
provider of bakery equipment,
including vibratory and bucket
elevator systems, hopper feeders, bulk box filling equipment,
mix-blend systems, hydrostatic
steam blanchers, hydrochillers
and washers. "The acquisition
of Meyer adds additional products and markets to our food
industry sales and will complement our product offerings from
our Kofab operation," said Roger Brown, president and chief
executive officer of Precision.
"With the addition of Meyer, we
now have two prominent brand
names in the industry and have
a tremendous base to grow this
