ACE Bakery to expand production
capacity in South Carolina
COLUMBIA, S.C. - ACE Bakery,
L.L.C., a subsidiary of George Weston
Ltd., has unveiled plans to invest
$31.9 million to expand production
capacity at its plant in Gaffney, S.C.
The expansion will create 40 jobs at
the plant over the next several years,
the company said.
The company said it will add
80,000 square feet to the existing facility and will add a production line and

double the size of its existing freezer.
ACE Bakery produces and distributes baked foods to a variety of retail
and food service sectors.

ACE Bakery. "The region's growth, as
well as the workforce and infrastructure, were key factors in expanding

our bakery. We appreciate the support

in 2013 with a goal to supply artisan
baked bread, including baguettes,
bread and rolls, to retail and food
service sectors throughout the United States, with a focus on the East

opened, ACE said it bought 10 acres
of land surrounding the bakery for

Seattle; plans include Chicago, N.Y.

SEATTLE - Starbucks Coffee Co. on
Nov. 7 opened its first Princi bakery and
cafe location in the United States at its
Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle.
Starbucks in July 2016 partnered with
Princi, a high-end Italian bakery and cafe
founded by Rocco Princi in 1986. At the
time of the partnership, Starbucks said it
would focus on developing and operating new Princi locations outside of Italy,
as well as offering Princi's baked foods in
its new specialty coffee shops.

food offering in all new Starbucks
Reserve Roastery locations, including
Shanghai, opening in December 2017,
Milan in late 2018, and New York, Tokyo and Chicago thereafter.

The Starbucks Reserve Roastery in
Seattle opened in December 2014. With
the addition of Princi, the Seattle store
now is centered around ovens with food
across every daypart baked fresh onsite,
Starbucks said. The store will offer more
than 100 menu items, including flaky
cornetti and focaccia sandwiches, the
company said.
In addition to the Starbucks Reserve
Roastery locations, Starbucks said it
plans to open standalone Princi locations

Pipeline Foods to open St. Louis
office, expanding soybean plant

MINNEAPOLIS - Pipeline Foods L.L.C. announced it will
open a regional office in St. Louis, a move designed to accelerate
its food and ingredient business.
"At Pipeline Foods, we want to accelerate the adoption of
regenerative farming practices in the U.S.," said Eric Jackson,
chief executive of Pipeline Foods. "We are bringing supply
chain expertise and infrastructure to the specialty processing
market in the Midwest, clearing the path for farmers who want
to move to organic processing, and simplifying the supply chain
for organic food and ingredients."
The St. Louis office will open near the end of this year and
will be led by Wade Ellis, director of food and ingredients at
Pipeline Foods.
In addition to the opening of the St. Louis office, Pipeline
Foods said it will be expanding Malden Specialty Soy. Pipeline
acquired Malden, Mo.-based Malden Specialty Soy in mid-July. Malden operates a soybean crushing facility that uses extrusion technology to process non-G.M.O. and organic soybeans
into soybean meal and oil.
Pipeline Foods said Malden will be "an anchor" for the food
and ingredient division, producing hexane-free organic and nonG.M.O. soybean meal as well as mechanical expeller-pressed oils. MBN

Publishing Company, Mr. Maheshwari's role at Siemer and a number of
other updates were inadvertently not
included in the grain storage section of
the annual guide.
Siemer's total grain storage is
8,044,000 bus, which ranks the business
as the 91st largest grain company in the United States (versus 94th, as incorrectly listed).
At the company's Teutopolis mill, the production scheduler is Karen Kocher; merchandiser is Dave DeVore; and
storage capacity is 3,447,000 bus. At the West Harrison,
Ind., mill, Mr. Maheshwari is plant manager; production
scheduler is Deanna Limes; merchandiser is Carl Schwinke; and storage capacity is 1,027,000 bus. At the company's
Hopkinsville, Ky., mill, Mary Gleason is plant manager; Jill
Wolfert is production scheduler; Steven Locke is merchandiser; and storage capacity is 3,570,000 bus. MBN
