AB Mauri hires vice-president of
baking ingredient innovation
ST. LOUIS - Rob Stevenson has
joined AB Mauri North America as
vice-president of baking ingredient
innovation. In his new role, Mr. Stevenson will lead the organization's
baking ingredient innovation
team and oversee the development and implementation of
new products and ingredients.
He succeeds Marie Thomas,
who was recently promoted to
a new managerial role within
AB Mauri's global bakery in- Stevenson
gredient division based in
Made, The Netherlands.
A 36-year food industry veteran, Mr.
Stevenson was with Gateway Products for the past 16 years. Gateway is

an Australian food ingredient manufacturer, and Mr. Stevenson was a director of the company with oversight
for technical sales, marketing and research and development divisions.
Before his work at Gateway
Products, Mr. Stevenson held
a variety of business development and technical sales
roles at several international
food manufacturing companies across Australia. He has
developed and introduced numerous specialty wheat proteins and multi-protein systems for
specialty applications in the baking,
meat and vegetarian industries.

Hostess Brands promotes Long
to vice-president, purchasing
KANSAS CITY - Steve Long has been
promoted to vice-president of purchasing at Hostess Brands, Inc. In his new
role, he will be responsible for corporate
purchasing and contracting activities
for various goods and services, including raw materials, packaging, in-direct
bakery spend and capital equipment.
Mr. Long has been director of

packaging procurement at Hostess
since the brand's relaunch in 2013.
Earlier, he was director of general procurement at Hostess from 1994 to 2013.
Prior to Hostess, he was raw material
purchasing supervisor at Russell Stover Candies, Inc. for five years, and before that spent four years as purchasing
manager at Coca-Cola Bottling.

Baking industry veteran named
sales director at Just Desserts
SAN FRANCISCO - Anthony (Tony)
Zamudio has been named director of sales
for Just Desserts, a baker of clean label
desserts. He will join the company June 4.
"I have been impressed by what Just Desserts has accomplished over the past few
years to position the company to grow and
to develop a brand and product line that
is on trend with where consumer interest
is growing," Mr. Zamudio said. "Just Desserts has always been known for outstanding quality, clean label products. However,
the product innovation and initiative to
launch the organic and vegan product lines
has really outpaced the industry. The new
bakery Just Desserts has built is impressive,
and investing in new equipment and building a talented team really shows a commitment for the future."
Mr. Zamudio brings more than 30 years
of bakery industry experience to Just Desserts. Previously, he held sales leadership
positions at TreeHouse Foods, Inc., Conagra

Brands, Inc., Bunge Ltd. and Dawn Food
Products, Inc. He began his career as a bakery manager for Haggens and was director
of bakery for Brown and Cole.

experience will be a great resource."
Dean Gold, who recently joined Just Desserts in March as vice-president of sales, said
he was seeking a sales leader who had the

Rob Kissick, senior vice-president
of purchasing at Hostess, will work
to transition his purchasing-related
responsibilities over to Mr. Long over
the next few weeks. Following the
transition period, Mr. Kissick is expected to shift his focus to the ongoing
management of Hostess's co-manufacturing relationships and other special projects. MBN

Former Hostess c.m.o.
joins Conagra snacks unit
CHICAGO - Burke Raine has joined
Conagra Brands, Inc. as vice-president
and general manager of the company's
snacks business, which is part of the Grocery and Snacks operating segment.
Before joining Conagra, Mr. Raine was
senior vice-president and chief marketing officer at Hostess Brands since March
2016. Earlier, he was with Diamond
Foods, Inc., where he was vice-president
of marketing for snacks and senior director of marketing for the Kettle and Pop
Secret brands. Prior to Diamond Foods,
Mr. Raine spent many years at PepsiCo,
Inc., working in a variety of marketing
positions in the company's Frito-Lay unit.
He began his career with General Motors
as a regional distribution manager.
Mr. Raine received a bachelor's degree
in economics and political science from
the University of Michigan and a master's degree in marketing and strategy
from The Fuqua School of Business at
