Grupo Bimbo commits to reaching
100% green energy goal by 2025

The Piedra Larga wind farm is a sustainability project that was launched
in 2012 to generate power equivalent

to all the electricity Grupo Bimbo uses
at its plants in Mexico. More recently,
the company earlier this year inaugurated "Bimbo Solar," an energy selfsufficiency initiative. The company

said in its first stage Bimbo Solar will
consolidate 33 systems that combined
generate 3.7 megawatts of power.
At the Bimbo headquarters building in Mexico City, the installed system includes 308 solar panels that will
generate 20% of the power used in the
facility, Bimbo said.

Flowers Foods, Sun-Maid Growers
enter licensing pact for raisin bread
KINSBURG, CALIF. - Sun-Maid Growers of California, the world's largest
producer and processor of raisins and
other dried fruits, has signed a brand licensing agreement with Flowers Foods,
Inc., Thomasville, Ga. Under terms of
the deal, Flowers will have the right to
produce and distribute Sun-Maid Raisin bread to approximately 80% of the
United States.

to top-of-mind to all of our customers
- especially those who have traditionally looked for us in the bread aisle," said

Barilla foundation, U.N. collaborate
on sustainability initiative
NEW YORK - The Barilla Center for
Food & Nutrition and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Solutions
Network have collaborated to develop a
roadmap to transform the food system
at the global level and to make progress
toward reaching the United Nations' sustainable development goals by 2030.
The roadmap will focus on four priorities: promoting knowledge and action
on sustainable diets to eradicate the root
causes of the global nutrition crisis; developing a sustainable land-use model for
agriculture; promoting research analysis
and case collection to monitor progress;
and promoting a science-based education
