Arcadia Biosciences promotes
Plavan to chief executive officer
DAVIS, CALIF. - Matthew Plavan
has been promoted to chief executive
officer of Arcadia Biosciences, Inc.
He will succeed Raj Ketkar, president
and c.e.o., who retired on Sept. 1.
Mr. Plavan joined Arcadia in 2016
as chief financial officer. Over the past
three years he has played a key role in
shifting the company's focus toward
crop innovation and commercialization. In February, he was named president of Arcadia Specialty Genomics,
which is the company's new strategic
business unit devoted to hemp.
Prior to joining Arcadia, Mr. Plavan
was c.e.o. and board member at Cesca
Therapeutics. Earlier, he was c.f.o. at
StrionAir and Reason, Inc.
He received a bachelor's degree in
business economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Rich Products elevates Ted Rich
to company board of directors
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Ted Rich has been
named to the board of directors of
Rich Products Corp., a move that
Bob Rich, chairman of Rich Products,
said "fulfills an important milestone
in support of our family mandate to
remain a private, family-owned company dedicated to long-term success."
Ted Rich earlier this year was named
to a new executive role: executive vicepresident of organizational excellence.
In that position, he has been charged

with building the organization's strategic capabilities and associate competencies as well as driving
associate and leadership development, the company said. Ted
Rich also will lead digital workplace advancement efforts.
Earlier, Ted Rich was senior
vice-president and customer experience officer for Rich Prod- Rich
ucts. Under his leadership, the
company launched a refreshed Rich

SunOpta hires Scott Huckins as
chief financial officer
TORONTO - Scott E. Huckins has
joined SunOpta, Inc. as chief financial
officer. He succeeds Robert McKeracher, who will work with Mr. Huckins through the end of 2019 to ensure a
seamless transition.
Mr. Huckins most recently was executive vice-president and c.f.o. of
Claire's Stores, Inc. Prior to Claire's,
he was vice-president and treasurer
of Sears Holdings and president of
Sears Re. Earlier, he was vice-president of treasury, tax and investor

relations at RSC Holdings, Inc.
He received a bachelor's degree in
finance from Arizona State University
and a master's degree in finance and

management strategy from Northwestern University.

Inc. and Lucent. She received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the
