Beneo native rice starch
works under harsh
processing conditions
Beneo GmbH, Mannheim, Germany, has launched Remypure S52 P, a precooked functional native rice starch, for
use in applications such as cold processed sauces, dressings, dairy desserts and bakery fillings. The ingredient delivers soft and creamy textures and product stability, even

under harsh processing conditions such as shear and acid,
according to Beneo.
The pre-cooked starch performs as well as modified
starches in cold processing conditions that involve low pH
and/or high shear.
" With the increasing demand from consumers for transparent product labels, we are always looking for ways to
help our customers meet these market demands, " said Benoit Tavernier, product manager specialty rice ingredients
at Beneo. " Remypure S52 P has been developed for food
producers searching for an instant clean label texturizer for
food preparations that can withstand harsh process conditions, while giving an additional creamy aspect to the texture of the end product. It is the first rice starch of its kind
on the market for this type of application and has already
been well received in a range of taste tests. "

joins innovation platform

Application manages
environmental
monitoring programs

Food Safety Net Services, San Antonio, has introduced
EMMA, an environmental and monitoring and mapping
application that allows food processors, plants and facilities to manage their environmental monitoring program
and trend their data based on results.
EMMA may be used as an automated approach to
ensure timely collection and submission of samples for
testing, according to FSNS, which assists companies in
implementing food safety and quality programs. EMMA
users may import one map of their facility or multiple
maps of various zones to pinpoint each unique swab site.
Specifications may be created for a color-coded, passor-fail map. EMMA is customizable with solutions for
routine sampling plans, customizable sampling plans
and the ability to set up plans for remediation of out-ofspecification events.

Univar to distribute ingredients
sourced from barley
EverGrain Ingredients, LLC, St. Louis, has selected Univar
Solutions, Inc., Downers Grove, Ill., to distribute its EverGrain range of plant-based ingredients for food, beverage
and nutraceutical products in the United States, Canada
and various countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The ingredients are derived from barley grains.
The agreement covers products such as EverPro, EverVita Pro and EverVita Fibra. EverVita Pro and EverVita Fibra
are used in baked
foods, including
bread, cakes, pasta,
tortillas and pizza
crusts. EverPro,
a soluble protein
isolate, is used in
applications such
as ready-to-drink
and ready-to-mix
beverages, plantbased milk alternatives, and bars.
