Another company looking to put a healthy spin on the cracker category
is Pipsnacks LLC, New York. Pipsnacks recently introduced Pipcorn Heirloom Snack Crackers, which feature the company's heirloom corn and
simple ingredients like non-GMO sunflower oil, sea salt, organic cheddar
cheese, color from paprika and annatto, and seasonings.

CEREAL SALES SOAR
Dollar sales in the ready-to-eat cereal category totaled $8.95 billion
in the 52 weeks ended July 12, up 6.5% from the same period a year
ago, according to IRI. Unit sales were up 3.8%.
General Mills helped key the spike, with dollar sales of the company's
Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch surging 24%,
15% and 11%, respectively. In total, RTE cereal sales at General Mills
were up 9.2% in the 52-week period ended July 12, according to IRI.
A popular trend in the RTE cereal category over the past year has been
