Tools of the trade
Cantrell has local roots and a worldwide reputation of excellence
native of Gainesville, George Cantrell
purchased an equipment manufacturing
company then known as Platt Tool Works in
1972. Having worked for years as a salesman to the
poultry industry, Cantrell's diverse product line and
business focus soon centered on serving the poultry
industry. By 1978 the entrepreneur had dropped the
old company name and Cantrell Machine Co. was
dedicated to producing quality poultry processing
equipment throughout the U.S. In the mid 70s, Cantrell
developed and was first to patent a cone deboning
line for poultry. Over the years the deboning line was
refined and has been, since its conception, one of the
companies biggest selling lines of equipment. Today,
the company continues manufacturing processing
equipment (including machinery for killing and picking,
evisceration, chilling, further processing, weighing
and sorting), but has expanded its service to include
offering replacement and custom parts for all brands of
equipment.

Cantrell Machine has a complete sales force stationed
throughout the United States, South America, the
Far East and Europe. Because poultry processing
procedures vary from one part of the world to
another, every area of the globe has a designated
sales representative. The sales team is divided
geographically and each representative specializes in
addressing the needs within their specific territories.
The sales force is supported by a team of sales
engineers skilled in plant layout and product flow
design. Engineers are available for customers either on
the phone or on-site, regardless of the location.
Cantrell has grown up in the poultry hotbed of
Gainesville and grown to be an internationally
respected supplier to one of the most competitive
segments in the food industry. With experience comes
knowledge and Cantrell realized decades ago that
its success is ensured only by the productivity and
profitability of its processing customers.

led to its growing facility in the southern part of the city.
Cantrell's operation now consists of five buildings, which
span an entire city block on South Bradford Street.
