PAYING EXTRA FOR SNACKS
The results of a Harris Poll of
more than 2,000 adults age 18 and
older taken in June reveal a large
majority of Americans (78 percent)
love experiencing foods and flavors
outside of their own culture.
The poll found that about one
quarter (26 percent) of adults in the
US said it was at least very important
to buy and consume foods containing
multicultural flavors.
Millennials especially feel the
need to eat multicultural flavors with
32 percent saying it was at least very
important, while 27 percent of both
35 to 44 year olds and 45 to 54 year
olds said it was important to them.

Sasquatch, the hairy beast known for
promoting Jack Link's meat snacks, is
showing off his rare beauty in ESPN The
Magazine's Body Issue, available now.
The 2016 Body Issue which celebrates
bodies of all shapes and sizes will feature a
two-page spread of Sasquatch posing with a
forest raccoon.
"Sasquatch was born with a physique reminiscent of a Greek
sculpture - a very furry Greek sculpture," said Tom Dixon, chief
marketing officer at Jack Link's. "It's not always easy to get a good
look at Sasquatch, so we're excited to give the world an opportunity to
admire him in all his glory."

MOVE OVER KETCHUP
The latest addition to Hardee's and
Carl's Jr.'s menus is the new Bacon
3-Way Burger. Aside from featuring
thick-cut and crumbled bacon, the
Black Angus burger also features the
latest in bacon condiments - bacon
jam. The jam is made by combining
bacon pieces, balsamic vinegar,
caramelized onions and molasses.
"There's no question that bacon
has become one of the most popular
and beloved food items in America,
not only found on menus everywhere
in its traditional strip form, but it's
showing up in new ways all the
time," Brad Haley, chief marketing
officer at Carl's Jr. and Hardee's,
said in a statement. "Sure, the Bacon
3-Way Burger has plenty of bacon in
the form of thick-cut, Applewoodsmoked bacon strips and crumbled
bacon, but the real star is the bacon
jam, which is starting to show up on
fine-dining and casual-dining menus
across the country."

SKIING CELEBRITY
When John Schoenfellinger, M+P's
2016 Operations Executive of the
Year, isn't helping to run Dietz &
Watson as the vice president of
engineering, he enjoys time on the
slopes with his wife Karen. His
Alpine skiing hobby has taken him to
mountains all across Europe as well
as to Switzerland to watch the World
Cup competition in St. Moritz.
At this year's International
Dairy, Deli, and Bakery Association
(IDDBA) Expo in Houston,
Schoenfellinger had the chance to
meet World Cup champion skier
Lindsey Vonn.
