Flowpacker
Food forming system
The 745E Food Forming System from
Nutec Manufacturing is 100 percent electric and uses absolutely no
hydraulic oil or compressed air. This
makes for a more hygienic process.
Though completely electric, the 745E
Food Former uses approximately 50
percent less electricity than other
machines its size while forming food
at a faster pace. A smaller footprint
also makes it a better choice for food
and meat processing operations. Nutec
electric and hydraulic food forming
and depositing systems produce food
with perfect shapes, great texture and
consistent quality time after time.

The lightline Flowpacker machine from
Schubert combines a Flowpacker and
a Pickerline in a single system and features Schubert's patented, state-of-the
art sealing technology for packaging
heat-sensitive products even more gently into flowpacks. Schubert's lightline
machine series includes three compact
preconfigured packaging machines;
the lightline Cartonpacker for erecting,
filling and closing cartons, the lightline
Pickerline and the lightline Flowpacker
for packaging products into flowpacks.

The Eagle Pack 240 HC machine is
designed for easy sanitation in harsh
environments like meat and poultry
facilities. This specific system can
be used to inspect fresh or frozen
products in a variety of packaging
formats, such as chubs, overwrapped
trays, pouches, cartons, tubs, cups
and plastic containers. In addition to
foreign body detection, the Pack 240
HC conducts important quality checks
like mass measurement, component
count and the identification of missing/broken pieces. Additionally, with
item-level traceability, rejected images
can be stored using product barcodes.

Poultry vaccines
VAXXITEK HVT+IBD+ND from
Boehringer Ingelheim provides a strong
immune foundation and optimized
protection against Marek's Disease,
Infectious Bursal Disease (classic
and variant types) and Newcastle
Disease. Until now, Boehringer
Ingelheim has offered two vaccines
that guard against the three diseases,
but they cannot be used together.
Veterinarians and poultry producers
have had to choose whether to use
VAXXITEK HVT+IBD to vaccinate
against Marek's Disease and Infectious
Bursal Disease or NEWXXITEK
HVT+ND to prevent the diseases.
Boehringer Ingelheim will manufacture
VAXXITEK HVT+IBD+ND from its site
in Gainesville, Georgia, which produces
more than 60 billion doses of poultry
vaccine a year for use in the United
States and over 60 other countries.

STEC detection system
Bio-Rad introduces the solution for
detecting virulence genes from Shiga
toxin-producing Escherichia coli
(STEC). Pathogenic STEC is defined as
the presence of both stx1 and stx2, as
well as eae, in one E. coli bacterium.
The dd-Check STEC Solution kit, which
harnesses Bio-Rad's Droplet Digital
PCR (ddPCR) technology, is the first
commercially available test for determining the coexistence of the STEC virulence genes in a single bacterium, providing rapid and reliable confirmation
of the presence of pathogenic STEC.
Traditional screening tests for pathogenic STEC cannot distinguish between
bacteria carrying both virulence markers (true positive) and mixed cultures
in which these target genes are present
in different bacteria (false positive).

Eviscerating technology
Meyn launches the Maestro Plus for
fully automated in-line organ harvesting at high speeds. The record
high yield of the Maestro eviscerator
technology combined with new organ
harvesting modules has again created
a solution with the highest yield in
the market for minimum waste and
maximum profit. The Maestro Plus
has been redesigned and built for
easier service and a smaller footprint
(including organ harvesting modules),
offering more flexibility in plant layout.
Before launch the Maestro Plus was
tested extensively for over two years.
