Tumbling and massaging
To highlight its expertise in tumbling
technology, Nowicki debuted
the new design of its MA-1000 PS
tumbler at IFFA. Featuring a smaller
footprint than its larger companion
tumbler (the MA-1000PSCH) the
MA-10000 offers tilting functions
and other features that are typical
of larger equipment with a smaller
footprint. More drum load capacity
allows operators to vacuum tumble
meat and poultry parts used to
produce ingredients for premium sausage
products. The tumbler's design
allows for easy access to its motor
compartment for maintenance and
sanitation procedures. The updated
sanitary design of the MA-1000 PS
includes a front cover vacuum extraction
system to allow for thorough
cleaning of its components.
While Nowicki's tumbling technology
has a long history of adding
value by tumbling raw product
under vacuum in any of a variety of
marinades, applications using similar
technology to defrost and massage
frozen products has been available
for more than 20 years.

allow processors to quickly transform
frozen meat blocks into high-quality,
evenly defrosted meat. Plant operators
using the technology cut down
on defrost time while limiting purge,
which increases yields by as much
as 5%. By creating a 95% vacuum
inside the massager, the system
produces a food-safe cold steam that
brings the chamber temperature to
104° F. The massagers' automated
features are not limited to controlling
and monitoring the processing
specifications inside the chamber but
also during the automated loading
and unloading process.
